Taproot Farm and Fruit is a family farm whose focus is our CSA, which stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This model helps us to share the risks and rewards of farming with our community of members. We grow our crops organically, and take care to be good long-term stewards of our soil and ecological community. In joining our CSA, you are voicing your support for local, sustainable food production and strong relationships between eaters and growers.
We are honored to be members of the Fairshare CSA Coalition, a great organization in Southern Wisconsin, who, in their words, "works to make CSA more accessible by linking people who care about the food they eat to local farmers who grow top-quality food for their local communities." They also make possible two great programs that we are excited to be a part of:
We have a harvest party and cider-pressing in the fall, and will also have events throughout the season, not to mention plenty of opportunities to get your hands dirty planting trees or helping with barn-raisings as we establish our farm. We hope you'll make yourself at home out at our little slice of Driftless paradise.
